12 Upcoming Battle Royale Games to Look Forward to in 2025 and Beyond

Many folks assume battle royale games started with PUBG, but that’s not true. This genre took its first steps in the early 2010s with ARMA 2. Mod creator Brendan Greene developed the “DayZ” mod, which challenged us to survive on a huge map. DayZ blew upᅳeven though its bugs drove us nuts!! This hinted at the shift towards battle royale games. We had to fight each other while dealing with dangers from the environment.

Then 2017 rolled around; a key year for battle royale games when PUBG launched and took the world by storm… The game’s standout feature let 100 of us duke it out for survival on one map. PUBG gave us chances to strategize and move fast helping battle royale games hit the big time. Following PUBG’s success Fortnite hit the scene in 2017 bringing a new spin to battle royale games… The genre didn’t stop at just shooters; it expanded to include racing combat, card deck battles and magical & melee-focused settings. We’ve put together a list of different battle royale games set to come out in 2025 & beyond:
