Ever dreamed of being a godlike warrior in a world inspired by Greek myth? Check out Dawn of Defiance, an exciting Early access survival-craft game on steam! As you know, besides games like Age of Mythology, Immortals Fenyx Rising and AC Odyssey, the market lacks many high-budget games about Greek mythology, which is a shame, of course.

In Dawn of Defiance, you start as a basic Defier, but don’t worry! This quick guide will give you the info to rise from the ashes and become a legend. As you check out broken islands and fight tough enemies, you’ll make strong weapons, learn special skills, and in the end, go against what the gods want.

But before you start your big adventure, you need to know the controls. Whether you like using a keyboard or a gamepad, this guide will teach you how to rule the battlefield like a real Defier!

Default Controls (Keyboard – Gamepad)

Movement: WASD / Left Stick

Cancel Bow Draw: E / X

Select Arrows: R / DPAD Up

Use Potions/Food/Repair Kit: F / X

Open Inventory: I / Start

Hover Over Buff: I / Start

Delete Items: Drag to X in the bottom-right of inventory

Repair Gear: Use repair cordage

Repair Cordage in Hotbar: Assign to a hotbar slot and use while holding a damaged item

Add Items to Refinery: Hold E / X

Select Facility Input: Hotbar + select input

Hard Fall: Glide or drop + Left-Click

Perform Dodge Roll: Left-CTRL / B

Crouch/Sneak: C / R3

Cycle Building Forms: F / DPAD Right

Perform Heavy Attack: Middle Mouse Click / Y

Perform Lunge Attack: Attack while sprinting

Set Item to Hotbar: Hover + press 1-8

View Controls in Inventory: T / L3

Block: Use shield (absorbs damage and drains stamina)

Parry: Time a block correctly to negate damage and stagger the enemy
