Dragon Age™: The Veilguard – PC Keyboard Controls & Key Bindings Guide

In Dragon Age: The Veilguard, you will plunge into a world of change, where even one wrong step might snare the balance of power. This is an episodic combination of some classic Dragon Age gameplay and new adventures that allow creating your very unique hero. Amazing landscapes await your explorations, interesting characters are ready for interaction, and combat events are going to be really thrilling. To help you rise to this epic journey, we have compiled a list of all the default key bindings you will need. So, let’s get our gear ready and jump into Thedas!

Default PC Keyboard Controls & Keybindings

W / A / S / D – Move your character forward, backward, left, or right.

Arrow Keys – Shift the camera view in any direction.

E – Interact with objects, open doors, or talk to characters.

Q – Block attacks to defend yourself.

R – Use a potion to regain health or boost stats.

F – Start “The Heist” action or special event.

Caps Lock (hold) – Walk at a slower pace for precision or stealth.

Left Shift – Sprint to move faster.

X – Switch to a different weapon.

Left Shift – Stop hip shooting if aiming down sights is needed.

Space – Dodge or roll to evade attacks.

Left Mouse Button – Execute a quick, light attack on enemies.

Left Shift + Left Mouse Button – Perform a slower, powerful heavy attack.

Middle Mouse Button – Fire from the hip without aiming.

Right Mouse Button – Lock onto a target or perform a takedown move.

Ctrl + 1 – Make Companion 1 use their first skill.

Ctrl + 2 – Make Companion 2 use their first skill.

Ctrl + 3 – Make Companion 3 use their first skill.

Ctrl + 4 – Make Companion 1 use their second skill.

Ctrl + 5 – Make Companion 2 use their second skill.

Ctrl + 6 – Make Companion 3 use their second skill.

M – Open the map to navigate or find objectives.

U – Automatically follow the current quest marker.

J – Access your journal to track quests and notes.

L – Open the codex to view lore or background information.

O – Bring up the skills menu to upgrade abilities.

I – Access your inventory to manage items and gear.

P – Open the companions menu to view or assign companion actions.

Tab – Open a quick access skill radial for easy selection.

C – Toggle between selected items, skills or options.

1 – Use your primary player skill.

2, 3, 4 – Access and activate additional special abilities.

N – Show a navigation pointer on the HUD for guidance.

V – Activate the rune you’ve currently selected.

Esc – Pause the game & access options.
