Sea Power: How to Find User Settings and Logs

Sea Power

If you’re diving into Sea Power, you probably already enjoy the immersive Cold War-era naval combat. You command submarines, ships, and aircraft to outmaneuver your opponents. Sometimes, however, you may want to adjust settings or troubleshoot some performance issues. For these cases, it’s super helpful to know where to find your user settings and log files.

Why These Files Matter

Your user settings file contains all the changes you have done, from the graphics settings to the control preferences. These files will enable you to tailor the game to your liking, and when something goes wrong, they enable you to restore your settings easily. On the other hand, log files are nice for troubleshooting; they track problems or errors the game may run into, such as crashes or glitches. These logs may give the quickest insight into what is causing something to go wrong if you are having problems.

How to Locate Your User Settings

Now we need to take a closer look at your user settings. Here’s where they are:

Open File Explorer, and navigate into this folder path:

C:\Users\[Your User Name]\AppData\LocalLow\Triassic Games\Sea Power

(Just swap [Your User Name] out for your actual username on the computer.)

Within this folder is the usersettings file. This is where all your game preferences are stored.

Locating Log Files

Now about those log files: these files contain important details concerning your game, such as recent crashes and/or performance statistics. To access these files:

In the same folder as the usersettings file, find player and player-prev logs. These logs capture the most recent two times you have played the game and assist in honing in on issues.

Additional Logs – Steam Users

If you are playing Sea Power through Steam, you have access to some additional detailed logs:

Right-click on Sea Power in your Steam library.

Select Manage > Browse Local Files.

Open the SeaPower Data folder, and you will see a Logs subfolder.
