Hitting Controls

Normal swing: X

Contact swing: Circle

Power swing: Square

Sacrifice bunt: Triangle (press early and hold)

Drag bunt: Triangle (press late)

Influence fly ball / Ground ball: left stick Up / Down

Influence left / right side: left stick Left / Right

Influence bunt 3rd or 1st: left stick Left / Right

BATTING MISC.

Guess pitch type: R2 + X, Circle, Square, Triangle, R1

Guess location: R2 + left stick

Quick menu (excluding player lock): ▲

Pitcher attributes / Player quirks: ◀

Pitching and batting breakdown: ▶

Call timeout (before windup): ▼

Activate batter’s eye cam: R3

Control the camera: right stick

Pitching Controls

Pitch out: L1 + X

Intentional walk: L1 + Circle

Pitch type 1: X

Pitch type 2: Circle

Pitch type 3: Triangle

Pitch type 4: Square

Pitch type 5: R1

To use PULSE PITCHING, select your PITCH TYPE and use the left stick to aim to your desired location in the zone. Press X at the smallest point of the PULSE to increase the accuracy of the pitch as it is released.

PITCHING MISC.

Look at runner: L2

Request catcher’s pitch call: R2

Pitch ball: X

Quick pickoff: L2 + Circle, Square, Triangle (tap)

Deceptive move: L2 + Circle, Square, Triangle (hold)

Slide step with runners on base: L2 + X

Pickoff to 1st: L2 + Circle

Pickoff to 2nd: L2 + Triangle

Pickoff to 3rd: L2 + Square

Step off mound (from windup/stretch): L1

Position ball in the zone: left stick

Throwing Controls

Move player: left stick

Jump / Dive: right stick

Throw to cutoff: L1

Switch to closest player (without ball): L2

Jump: R1

Dive: R2

Throw to 1st: Circle

Throw to 2nd: Triangle

Throw to 3rd: Square

Throw home: X

DEFAULT BASERUNNING

Target a runner: left stick

Advance / Return individual: left stick + Circle + Square + Triangle + X

Lead off individual runner: left stick + L1

Lead off / Advance all: L1

Steal individual runner: left stick + L2

Steal all runners: L2

Steal early: L2 (hold and release)

Return individual runner: left stick + R1

Return all runners: R1

Stop runner: R2

Sliding Controls

Straight in feet first: right stick Down

Straight in head first: right stick Up

SLIDES AT BASES

Straight in feet first: right stick Down

Straight in head first: right stick Up

Hook to the left: right stick Left

Hook to the right: right stick Right

Break up a double play at 2nd: right stick Down
