Kingdom Two Crowns – Enemies

Greed

So, let’s talk about the main enemy in the game: Greed. These little guys show up every night from the nearest portal to your kingdom. They’re out for one thing—to snatch up your coins and tools—and they’ll hightail it back to their portal the second they grab something. If they hit your walls, they’ll start beating them down, and if they catch one of your subjects, they’ll make them drop their tools and coins, turning them back into vagrants.

When they attack you, they’ll knock one coin out of your pocket at a time. If you’re empty-handed, they’ll knock a gem out instead. And if you’ve got nothing at all, they’ll swipe your crown right off your head! You can kill a Greed with just one arrow, and they drop whatever they were carrying when they go down.

In the early game, a popular strategy is to just drop some coins on the ground to distract the Greed, which is known as “bribing.” It keeps you and your crew safe while you work at night.

Armored Greed

Next up are the Armored Greed. You’ll spot these tough cookies by the masks they wear. They act like regular Greed, attacking walls and stealing stuff, but they take a few hits before their mask comes off. Once you knock that off, they’re just like any other Greed. Oh, and yeah, you can bribe them too!

Floaters

Now we’ve got the Floaters, the only flying enemies in the game. They ignore walls completely and can do some serious damage. When they swoop down, they hit nearby walls, knock coins out of your bag, and make your subjects drop their tools. Plus, they can grab up to two of your subjects and kidnap them!

If they go for your archers in the towers, they’re in trouble. Floaters have decent health, but you can usually take them down with one shot from a catapult or mighty ballista. Just make sure to kill them before they fly back to their portal, or you’ll lose your stolen units.

Breeders

Now, let’s talk about the Breeders. These guys are the big bads of the game. They’re super strong and can take a bunch of hits from catapults or mighty ballistas to take down. They spit out three Greed every few seconds to back them up, so they’re definitely not to be underestimated.

Breeders are slow but pack a punch, making you drop lots of coins with each hit. Trying to run past them? Your mount might rear back, leaving you open for an attack. They can also throw rocks back at you, dealing massive damage to your walls and knocking coins out of your bag. If they hit your subjects, they’ll drop their tools and lie there for a bit, becoming totally useless.

Breeders can’t be bribed, and they’re not going away until they get your crown, so watch out!

Crownstealers

Then we have the Crownstealers, which show up later in the game and are bent on stealing your crown. Sometimes, they ride around on Breeders, jumping off if you get close. When they’re on the ground, they go straight for you, moving like lightning and jumping over walls. If they reach you, they’ll always knock your crown off, no matter what you have in your pockets.

Because they’re so fast, you can’t outrun them. Your only chance is to take them down quickly before they grab your crown.

Portals

Now let’s chat about portals. These big, rocky gateways are found in the forest and spawn your enemies each night. They’re closed during the day, so you can sneak past, but when night falls, they’ll open up and start releasing Greed to attack anything nearby. If you mess with them, they’ll open up too.

You can destroy a portal by sending your knights or squires after it, but be ready for a fight! Once a portal goes down, the sky will turn blood red, and you’ll hear angry cries. Your subjects will freak out and start retreating, and a blood moon will rise shortly after, spawning even more enemies than a typical blood moon.

Once you take out the last portal on one side of the island, the cliff/dock portal will activate.

Dock Portals

Dock portals show up on the dock of a new island, and you need to defeat them to build the island’s lighthouse. They start closed and will open once you’ve taken out all the other portals in that direction. Don’t let their looks fool you; they’re as tough as a cliff portal. When you take one down, you’ll trigger a blood moon, just like with any other portal, and that side of the island will be safe from Greed (for now).

Cliff Portals

Cliff portals work like dock portals, starting closed and opening only when you’ve destroyed all the other portals in that direction. You can attack them like any other portal, and they hit back hard with a huge health pool. Once you take them down, they’ll start rebuilding themselves over the next three days, so they won’t spawn enemies during that time.

Spoiler Alert: How to Destroy Cliff Portals

To actually destroy a cliff portal, you need to grab a bomb from the forge for 18 coins. Once you buy it, a squad will automatically form around the bomb, including up to two knights or soldiers, a group of archers, and about three workers to help push the bomb. They’ll follow you as you head towards the cliff portal, only stopping if you backtrack.

When you reach the cliff portal with the bomb, you need to pay 5 coins to kick off the siege. Once you do, your squad will jump into the portal to the Greed realm.

Inside, you’ll have to work with your squad to escort the bomb past five Greed nests that spit out seven Greed every few seconds. When the bomb reaches the heart of the portal, you’ll have to cough up another 5 coins to light it up, causing a massive explosion and unleashing a ton of Greed.

At that point, your squad is pretty much done for, so you’ll need to run like crazy to escape back through the portal before the bomb blows up. If you make it out in time, the cliff portal will be destroyed, and that island will be safe from Greed for good. But if you don’t? You might face a game over, making that victory a bit bittersweet.
