In this tutorial, you will find steps to make the controller (gamepad, joystick) work with Watch Dogs: Legion.
Method #1
- Launch the Steam.
- On the top left, click on Steam.
- Go to the Settings.
- Click on the Controller.
- Click on the “GENERAL CONTROLLER SETTING” button.
- Select/Check your gaming controller—for example, PlayStation Configuration Support.
- Then go back and click on the OK button.
- Launch the game and check your controller.
Method #2
Download the Xbox 360 Controller Emulator: https://www.x360ce.com
- Click on the “Download for 64-bit games” button.
- It supports all joystick versions, including the PS4, Logitech controller.
- Run the x360ce_x64.exe application in the Watch Dogs: Legion folder.
- Click on the Create button.
- Extract the zip to the folder where Watch Dogs: Legion is installed.
- Make sure the USB is plugged in.
- Click on the Create button.
- Click on the Next button.
- Click on the Finish button.
- Go to the Game Settings tab.
- Click on the “Apply/Synchronize Settings” button.
- Click on the OK.
- Go to the Controller 1 tab.
- Click on the Save button.
- That’s all, you can play the game now.
Question: You write
“-Run the x360ce_x64.exe application in the Watch Dogs: Legion folder.”
That seems, in my case to be: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Watch Dogs Legion”
That is the 32-bit folder.. why download/run x360ce_x64.exe (64 bit) in there?
update I have it working. However, I downloaded “New 4.17.15.0 • 2020-11-15 – DOWNLOAD FOR ALL GAMES” I take it this is a 32/64 bit universal binary? Either way I placed it in “C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Watch Dogs Legion\bin” My screen is set to HiDPI and this version of the app (unlike its dedicated 32-bit and 64-bit versions) could not render the UI properly. So I had to fiddle around with the compatibility settings. Once that was done, I managed to configure the tool and map all keys/buttons. It all works now.
