Uploading Your CMS 2021 Mod: A Step-by-Step Guide
Want to get your awesome creation published on the Workshop? Follow these simple steps to get your mod up and running!
- First, head over to Post -> WORKSHOP UPLOAD, and make sure your image & pack file have the same name. Your image must also be in.png format. Let’s say your mod’s name is “test mod. pack” without quotes. Rename your picture to “test mod.png” without quotes as well. Easy, right?
- Next, look for your mod at the bottom of the list in the launcher, and click on the blue folder icon. Then, go to the top of Steam, where you see your name, and click content from the dropdown. Choose the workshop tab, select the Car Mechanic Simulator 2021, and voila! Your mod should appear. Simply click on it to access the mod’s page and manage your content.
- Don’t forget to read everything carefully before entering your details. And don’t skip the step where you upload your upload_preview.png thumbnail! It needs to be small, but it’s necessary. Otherwise, you’ll receive an error and your mod won’t upload.
- If you have a huge mod, be patient! It might take a few seconds, minutes, or even hours. And don’t forget to approve the Steam Workshop Agreement for modifications to be uploaded. Your mod’s ID will be replaced by its workshop ID and its name, if empty, will be set to its former ID.
- Oh, and if you need to update your mod, no worries! Simply select it in the top left list, enter your change notes, and hit ‘Update Existing Mod.’ Easy-peasy, right? Now go forth and share your mod with the world!
