  1. Kerbal Space Program 2

Build your own spacecraft to explore the stars in developers Intercept Games and Squad’s sequel to their 2015 success: Kerbal Space Program. In Kerbal Space Program 2, you will participate in the same space flight simulation gameplay, but this time with several welcome new features at your fingertips. In addition to the returning sandbox of features from the first game, you will be able to use new methods of propulsion, like the much-requested Orion Drive and the Interstellar Drive. New habitation modules now exist to permit building on planetary surfaces. Also new are orbital and planetary colonies for your kerbals to live in. Pit your rocket creations against your friends with an exciting multiplayer mode. Win the space race when Kerbal Space Program 2 rockets onto PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Series X/S, and PC in 2022.

  1. The Invincible

Explore the unknown planet of Regis III in Starward Industries’ The Invincible. This first-person sci-fi thriller takes place in a retro-future timeline where the capabilities of technology have advanced while still remaining analog. You play as a scientist who has embarked on a mission to find their missing crew on the surface of Regis III. While the planet looks desolate at first, you may not be alone. The planet holds terrifying secrets that you will uncover in an immersive, non-linear story inspired by Stanislaw Lem’s story that shares its name with this game. Traverse the planet through intense gameplay with amazing graphics brought to you by the Unreal Engine. Secrets will be revealed when The Invincible lands on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in 2022.

  1. Haunted Space

Explore the darkest reaches of space in Haunted Space by Italian Games Factory. But be prepared; this game combines space exploration with unspeakable horrors by including Lovecraftian beings. These nightmares are littered throughout Haunted Space, and while some are smaller and easy enough to deal with using your more than capable starship, others are gargantuan creatures that are comprised of a horrifying combination of organic matter and space waste. These will need to be eliminated through intense multi-stage boss fights, much like the boss characters in the Dark Souls games. Jump through multiple systems fighting these monsters, taking quests, and earning credits to buy and upgrade your ship’s many parts.

Everything about your ship is customizable, from how it looks to how you fly it, thanks to an advanced co-pilot system that allows for everything from actual spaceship simulation all the way down to an experience that can be used by blind or visually impaired players. No matter how you choose to play, be ready to take on interstellar nightmares when Haunted Space blasts off onto PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC presumably in 2023, though it doesn’t have a solid release date yet.

  1. Star Trek: Resurgence

Boldly go on an exciting adventure in Star Trek: Resurgence, a narrative adventure game being built by Dramatic Labs, a studio that is made up of former Telltale Game’s employees. Follow two characters through one story that features branching paths based on character choices in a similar fashion to classic Telltale games. Where Star Trek: Resurgence differs from most Telltale games is in its package, as it will be available as a single large story rather than parceled out into smaller chapter releases. This story takes place after the Star Trek: The Next Generation series of films. Make good decisions when Star Trek: Resurgence aims its phasers at PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Series X/S, and PC in 2022.

  1. Earth From Another Sun

Conquer the galaxy in developer Multiverse’s massive FPS space game Earth From Another Sun. An entire galaxy is at your fingertips in either single-player or co-op mode. Jump from planet to planet, meeting different races, taking quests, and either trading, smuggling, or pirating. On your travels, you will discover ancient alien ruins that hide incredible new weapons and armors. Add these items to your collection of hundreds of weapons, mods, abilities, and gadgets. Form relationships both diplomatic and romantic with a diverse cast of rulers and adventurers. Pilot a host of vehicles for traversal and combat, including mechs, tanks, hovercraft, and planes in addition to your spaceship. Enjoy brand new content every two weeks when Earth From Another Sun lands on PC in 2022.

  1. Starfield

Finally, our most anticipated space game coming up is the long-awaited, very hyped adventure Starfield by Bethesda Game Studios, the makers of The Elder Scrolls and Fallout. This action role-playing game promises to be the first true next-generation experience and the first new universe from Bethesda in 25 years. Not much is known about it right now because they are still hard at work on the game, but it is reportedly a planet-hopping action space opera with many characters, basically a Skyrim in space. Experience Starfield when it launches exclusively for Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Game Pass on November 11th, 2022.
