How to Play Co-Op in Dying Light 2 Stay Human with Friends
Dying Light 2 has been a long time coming. The trailer first surfaced on May 28, 2021, creating an uproar in the gaming community like never before. Everyone likes zombie games (evident in the massive success of the Resident Evil franchise, among others) for a specific reason – Hack and slash your way through hordes of enemies.
The story also matters, but the all-out killing frenzy is undoubtedly the greatest selling point of any zombie-based game. Dying Light is a fan-favorite title, garnering over 220,000 positive reviews on Steam alone. Techland took the greatest aspects of their previous game and created something never seen before.
Dying Light 2 is the love child of Mirror’s Edge and Resident Evil. The best of both worlds; a perfect game, so to speak, simply because you can even enjoy it with friends, and in this guide, you’ll learn exactly how to do so.
- You’ll need to complete the Prologue (an hour and a half long) before you and your friends can jump into the fray.
- The Free Roam mode becomes available once you complete the Prologue. You can now invite friends to join your party and venture out to kill zombies.
- Dying Light 2 is set to Single Player only mode by default. To change it, head over to the online settings menu and change it to Friends Only or Public if you do not have anyone to play with at the moment.
- To invite a specific friend, go to the online menu and select them from your friend’s list. Invited players joining from outside the game can pick the savefile they want to play.
- Your party team/party needs to be in the exact location to trigger cutscenes or interact with NPCs. Fast Travel is also available for players far away from your location.
- Don’t worry if you stumbled into a tricky situation. Simple use the ‘Call for help’ feature to search for players willing to join your party.
- Properly adjust the voice chat setting before you call for someone to help you out.
Parting thoughts
Judging by the movies, a lone traveler never makes it far in a zombie apocalypse before they are gutted or meet an equally painful end. Dying Light 2 is no exception, and death lurks around every corner, especially during the night. Having a few friends on board while you’re cruising through the plague-ridden city is safer and more enjoyable.
Hopefully, this guide has everything you need to buddy up inside the game. Check out our PC keyboard controls guide for a complete overview of all key binds if you’re still having trouble. Until next time. Happy Gaming!

I’ve loved games ever since I was a child. I like playing them and sharing my feelings with other like-minded individuals. I started off writing as a hobby, and a few years later, my love for games is still as lively as ever and I intend to spread it throughout the gaming community.
