How to Do a Hook Shot in NBA 2K23
/The hook shot cannot be blocked as easily as other shots. It’s ideal for low post players, and ever since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar perfected it, the move has been a staple in almost all NBA games. Executing the shot is easy, but you should use it when the opponent least expects it. Couple the hook shot with other moves to keep the defender guessing.
Having a wide variety of moves at your disposal will help you become a better player in the game, and we have several NBA 2K23 guides to help you in that regard. Now, let’s see how you can execute a perfect hook shot.
HOW TO DO A HOOK SHOT IN NBA 2K23?

XBOX ONE & SERIES X | S
- To perform a hook shot: Hold down L2 to post up. Move and hold the Right Stick up left or up right while the Left Stick is neutral.
The perfect time to do a hook shot is when your shooting hand is being shielded by your body and you’re in the sideways position. The position is further reinforced because your non-shooting hand and your shoulder prevent the defender from blocking your shot.
The hook is a post move, which means the ideal position to execute it is within 2-3 feet of the hoop, but you can use it from further back if needed. However, sometimes you may accidentally execute a fadeaway, a normal shot, or simply fail the hook shot altogether if you make the move from too far away. Attempting the shot from the high post is not easy and affects its accuracy. But with perfect timing, you can consistently line up the shot, even from a distance.
The move is undoubtedly one of the best moves available in NBA 2K23, and one that requires extensive training to fully master. There will be no stopping you once you have trained your muscle memory and can execute the NBA 2K23 hook without fail.
