NBA 2K23: How to Alley-Oop
In basketball, an alley-oop is a shot where a player throws the ball very close to the basket so their teammate can jump, grab the ball mid-air, and score through a dunk or layup. The shot’s difficulty stems from timing, as the passer must aim the ball so it is near the rim at the same time as their jumping teammate.
Teamwork, pinpoint passing, and timing are all required for a perfect alley-oop in NBA 2K23. You can throw an alley-oop to a teammate who is approaching the hoop or near the basket by double-tapping the Y (Xbox) or Triangle (PS5) button. You have several options for where you want to throw the ball. To receive the pass, move the Left Stick in the direction of the player you want to pass to. By pressing the Left Stick towards the hoop, you can even throw yourself an alley-oop.
