NBA 2K23: MyNBA Eras Explained

NBA 2K23 finally introduces the much-requested MyNBA Eras. This feature lets you pick a certain time in the history of the NBA and gives you full control over how the franchise develops. In other words, you can rewrite history and fulfill all your NBA fantasies. Here is a list of what’s included in Eras.

WHAT IS AN ERA IN NBA 2K23

An Era is a specific point in time where you can start a new MyNBA save. There are 4 Eras in total.

The Modern Era

The Magic VS Bird Era

The Jordan Era

The Kobe Era

ERA SPECIFIC CHANGES

Except for a few, almost all teams have access to one unique floor per Era. Even teams that got rebranded or relocated have access to two or more floors. The same applies to uniforms and short lengths as well. You will have a wide variety of uniforms to choose from this year.

Every Era has a unique menu background.

Keeping in line with the 80s trends, the AI, playbooks and player tendencies will focus toward post game and midrange. The more space-oriented modern plays are swapped out for tighter lanes and aggressive pushes towards the basket.

Finances related to Rookie scale contracts (and other factors) will develop in line with the Era.

The Eras also highlight the changes in the logos every year.

There was no social media in the 80’s and the same applies to Eras. It’ll be introduced later as you progress through the timeline. Even division alignment/expansion takes place based on historical records.

Early games will also have two referees on court. A third will be added in time in conjunction with when the NBA first issued the rule.
