WWE 2K23: How to Break the Ring

1

The first time I saw the ring shatter and collapse under the weight of two powerful wrestlers in a WWE 2K game, I was in awe. Sure, it’s a thing that has happened in real life, but seeing it happen unexpectedly in a video game is, pardon the pun, game-changing.

Now that WWE 2K23 is out in the wild, I was wondering if ring-breaking was included in this edition of the game. After a little bit of experimentation, I can assure you that yes, it is. How do you go about crashing through a floor designed for power bombs and elbow drops? That’s what I’m here to help you with today. So let’s get started so you can start breaking rings in style.

  • Ok, in order to have enough weight to break the ring in WWE 2K23, you’re going to need to have some beefy bois wrestle each other. The beefiest you can find preferably, but you’ll definitely need at least one Super Heavyweight and one Heavyweight. That will be just enough to get the destructive results you’re looking for.

  • Now that you have two Big Chunguses ready to go head-to-head, you need to make sure at least on of them has a very special move. You need this move in order to break the ring, so this next part is pretty crucial. When selecting your wrestlers, check the “Top Rope Stunned” area of the move lists. As long as one of the wrestlers you select has the Superplex move, you’re ready for the next step!

  • Now that you’re in a match, you need to do some damage. The wrestler that has the Superplex move should be the one doing the damage, and the opponent needs to be beat up on until their body icon is yellow. Then Irish Whip them into a corner, and press up on the right stick to force your stunned opponent up onto the turnbuckle.

Now is where things get wild.

  • Hold the B or A buttons if you’re playing on an Xbox, or the Circle or X buttons for PlayStation, to perform a Superplex. If everything lines up, you will win the match with a KO and crash through the ring in a destructive crash of glory.

If the ring doesn’t break on the first try, don’t panic. You might need to repeat the process once or twice more to get the desired results, but that’s ok. Whatever it takes to achieve awesomeness, right??

Mike has been playing video games since he was able to hold a controller, having been fascinated by Sonic 2 on his mom’s Sega Genesis. That fascination and passion for the art form has grown exponentially nearly 30 years later, and he doesn’t see that fading away anytime soon.
