How to Unlock & Recruit More Commanders in SpaceBourne 2

After eagerly anticipating the release of Starfield and Star Citizen, we’ve been graced with a remarkable space sim-arcade game that’s been making waves with its enthralling gameplay: SpaceBourne 2. At a cursory glance, it might resemble your typical space arcade game. However after immersing yourself for just over 40 minutes, you’ll begin to appreciate the richness and depth this game provides. What’s even more impressive is that it’s the brainchild of a single developer, Burak Dabak. A standout feature of SpaceBourne 2 is the capacity to enlist commanders who will battle on your behalf, and currently, you can have up to nine.

As you progress in the game, you’ll create a faction that starts with three initial generals. But fear not, as you can eventually expand your roster to nine commanders in total. To unlock more commanders, visit your home station and access the Command Deck. This is where you’ll oversee your commanders, their ships, and other crucial aspects of your fleet.

To broaden your array of commanders, approach the terminal found in the Command Deck. This terminal allows you to enhance various elements of your station.

Focus on upgrading the barracks, which demands resources and currency. By investing in the barracks, you’ll progressively unlock all nine commanders. As for assigning those generals after unlocking the slots: In the Faction -> Overview Screen, there’s a scrollbar that can be dragged to the right to create new fighter/dropship groups.

Upgrading Generals’ Ships

You also have the option to upgrade your commanders’ ships. While in the Command Deck, open the menu, select the faction, and then choose members. Next, click on a general and navigate to the “Upgrade Ship” section. Here, you’ll find the available ships for each commander, including heavy fighters, drone carriers, and command ships. Keep in mind that there may be a cap on the number of upgraded ships you can maintain at once. As you delve deeper into the game, you might gain the ability to upgrade additional ships, but further exploration and player feedback will shed more light on this aspect.

Collecting resources and currency is essential for upgrading your barracks and unlocking new commanders. Participate in system raids, mining, or other in-game activities to amass the required resources and funds. These activities not only assist in unlocking more commanders but also empower you to upgrade their ships and fortify your entire fleet.
