Silica: How to Find and Join Your Friend’s Server
/Finding a specific server in Silica can be quite challenging due to the game’s server display limit and regional restrictions that might cause some servers to be hidden. That’s why it’s necessary to make a few adjustments. We’ve compiled this guide to help you easily join your friends on their server.
- Close Silica. It’s crucial to close Silica to ensure that the changes made in the following steps are applied correctly upon restarting the game.
- Access your Steam Library. This is where all your games are stored on the Steam platform.
- Go to the Steam Menu. It’s located in the top left corner of your Steam Library interface.
- Select Settings. You can find this option in the dropdown menu from the Steam Menu.
In the Settings window, select the Downloads option. This section manages your game download settings.
- Change the Download Region. In this section, find the ‘Download Region’ dropdown menu. This setting primarily affects your game download speeds and availability, depending on your geographical region. It also affects which servers you can see in Silica. For easy access, you and your friends should set this to the same region.
- Reopen Silica. After making the necessary changes, launch Silica again.
- Start the Game. The person chosen as the host should now start the game on their server.
- Join the Server. Once the game is live you can navigate to ‘Play’ > ‘Join an Existing Game’ in the server list on Silica’s main menu to join a Friend’s game. If all steps were followed correctly, the hosted game should appear in this list.
