Controls for Ark: Survival Ascended

Keyboard Controls

Player Movement:

• W/A/S/D: Move forwards, backwards, strafe left or right

• Left Shift/Right Shift: Run

• Left Alt: Slow down to crawling

• C: Crouch

• X: Prone

• Space Bar: Jump

• E: Use or action

Inventory and Crafting:

• I: Access inventory

• V: Access crafting list

• O: Drop items

• F: Access another inventory

• M: Map; Mouse wheel to zoom

Combat and Equipment:

• Left Mouse Button: Melee attack/fire weapon

• Right Mouse Button: Aim/alternate fire

• R: Reload

• Mouse Wheel: Enter first or third person

Hot Bar and Items:

• Numbers 1-8: Access hot bar items

• Q: Toggle fists; Inventory shortcut

Advanced Controls:

• Mouse Wheel (Press): Ping instructions/directions

• Right Alt: Selfie camera; Melee attack/weapon whip

• Backspace: Toggle HUD

• H: HUD extension

• L: Open tribe manager

Building and Interaction:

• Left Mouse Button: Place structures; Interact with structural items

• E/H (Hold): Options and text for structural items

Dinosaur Controls:

• E/F: Mount/Dismount Dino; Access Dino’s inventory

• Mouse Wheel: Change view on mounted Dino

Xbox Gamepad Controls

Player Movement:

• Left Stick: Move forwards, backwards, strafe left or right

• Right Stick: Look around

• Left Stick (Press): Toggle running

• Right Stick (Press): Crouch; Long press for prone

• A: Jump

• Y: Use or action (e.g., collecting resources, drinking water)

• B: Access inventory

• LB/RB: Shortcut switch inventory, cosmetic, crafting

• Left Trigger: Drop items

Combat and Equipment:

• Right Trigger: Melee attack/fire weapon; Aim/alternate fire with left trigger

• X: Reload; Access another inventory

• Back Button: Map; Hold for zoom

Hot Bar and Items:

• A (Double Click): Move items to hot bar

• D-Pad Directions: Activate first four hot bar slots

• LB + X/Y/B/A/Left D-Pad/Right D-Pad: Use other six hot bar slots

Advanced Controls:

• LB + RB: Ping instructions/directions

• LB + Up on D-Pad: Toggle fists or previous item; Change hot bar to inventory shortcut

• Back Button + Right Stick: Toggle HUD; HUD extension; Orbital view

• Right Trigger (Hold): Reel in with grapple hook
