Easy INI Tweaks for Ark: Survival Ascended on Xbox & PlayStation

INI files are like the secret sauce for customizing game settings on PC… But here’s the kicker – you can’t directly mess with game files on consoles like Xbox Series & PS5. No sweat though, you got a workaround using console commands in the game itself…

Getting Started

Enable Console Commands: Jump into the game menu, hit up the settings, and turn on those console commands; this part’s crucial ’cause it’s your ticket to making all those tweaks…

To get into the console command UI: If you’re on an Xbox, just tap the View button when you’re hanging out in the main menu. On a PS5? No sweat, it’s almost the same. Press the Create button on your controller, it’s the one next to the touchpad on the left

You’ll need a keyboard or just use the on-screen one. Type in your commands here. Remember, it’s all about precision & knowing exactly what to punch in. Below we’ve got the full list of console commands you can use in Ark: Survival Ascended, so you can dive right in and start tweaking your game

Example Commands & What They Do

r.volumetricCloud 0: Kiss those pesky clouds goodbye & clear up your sky

r.shadowquality 0: Shadow quality? More like shadow schmality. Drop it down to zero & watch your game run smoother

r.do.materialqualitylevel 0: This one’s wild. It turns everything grayscale, but hey, it boosts your FPS big time

When you type in grass.enable 0, you’re basically switching off the grass. It’s great for improving game performance on less beefy systems, or just if you prefer a less cluttered look in your prehistoric playground

r.volumetricFog 0: Foggy days can be cool, but sometimes you just want clear skies and unobstructed views, right? Enter this command to clear up all that atmospheric fog in the game. It’s like having a personal weather control button -> besides giving you a clearer view, turning off volumetric fog can also help the game run smoother on your system

Played around with the settings & wanna switch back? No problemo. Just re-enter the command with the opposite value (0/1)
