Blood Hunting in Dominions 6
What’s Blood Hunting Anyway??
So, blood hunting is how you gather blood slaves for those cool blood magic spells. It’s tricky & needs some smart moves.
The Three Big Checks
To rock at blood hunting, you gotta clear three hurdles:
- Level Up Your Game: First thing’s your blood magic level. Here’s the deal: your success chance = 10 + (blood level x 30) higher level means you’re more likely to succeed…
- People Count Matters: Next, look at how many folks live in the province. The math’s easy: your chances = province’s population / 75. More people? Better odds.
- Keep It Cool: The last part’s about keeping the peace. The more unrest in the province, the tougher it gets. Your chance of messing it up = province unrest / 4… so keep things chill, okay?
What You Win (Or Lose)
If you nail all three checks, congrats! You get blood slaves = dice roll (d6) + your blood level. But remember, this ups the unrest in the area by d(slaves x 3 + 4). Mess up on any check, though, & you get no slaves & unrest goes up by d6 – 1… so, there’s a bit of risk involved.
Magic Sites – They Matter Too
Don’t forget about magic site frequency. It can really change things up. Every 5% off the usual 50% tweaks your slave count by about ±0.5. Small changes, but they can add up.
Handling Tough Locals
Sometimes, the locals aren’t too happy about you taking people for sacrifices. If things get heated you might have to deal with some trouble… But, if you’ve got a strong dominion & they believe in your god, they’ll see it as an honor. At dominion strength 10, you’re pretty much in the clear.
Tips & Tricks
- Choosing the Right Province: Look for provinces with high populations and low unrest for optimal results.
- Leveling Up Your Blood Mage: Invest in enhancing your blood mage’s level. Higher levels significantly increase success rates.
- Balancing Unrest: Keep an eye on unrest levels. High unrest can sabotage your efforts, so manage it through spells or troop deployment.
- Magic Site Monitoring: Regularly check the magic site frequency in your hunting grounds. Adjust your strategies accordingly.
