Ark: Survival Ascended – How to Tame a Dung Beetle
Yo what’s up fellow Ark survivors?? Today we’re gonna dive into taming one of the niftiest little critters in Ark: Survival Ascended – the Dung Beetle; yeah you heard that right, we’re going beetle hunting…
Prep Work
First things first, you gotta find your way to the central cave… We’re talking latitude 40.1 & longitude 46.4. Make sure you’re packing some serious heat like a shotgun or a crossbow ’cause you’ll be needing it to clear the cave of any nasty surprises…
Set your dino to neutral before heading in – this way -> they can throw down if they need to while you’re busy spelunking. And hey don’t forget to bring an extra set of armor; Those Arthropluera bugs can mess up your gear real bad.
Navigating the Cave
Inside the cave, it’s like a maze, but don’t sweat it… It loops around so you can take a left or right & circle back if things get too heated. Clear those dead dinos outta your way, or you might end up cornered; Not cool…
The Art of Taming
Now for the main event – taming those Dung Beetles… You wanna grab some medium or large dino doo-doo… Spoiled meat works too, but the bigger the poo, the faster the taming, got it?? Toss that into your last inventory slot & hit the E button when it’s time to feed the little guys…
The cave’s colder than a snowman’s handshake, so pack enough grub & water to keep you going; you don’t wanna starve or freeze while working your taming magic…
Post-Taming Hustle
Once you’ve tamed those beetles, it’s time to hightail it outta there… If you’re rocking a shoulder pet, drop it for a sec to pick up your new beetle buddies; then, fly them back to your base with something like an Argentavis.
Back at Base
At your crib, set up a small pen & let your dung beetles wander. Stuff their inventory with dino droppings & watch the magic happen – they’ll turn it into fertilizer & oil… Keeping them in a pen’s smart; stops them from wandering off on their own adventure.
Cave Life Survival Tips
Watch out for those bats… they can give you a nasty virus, but if you’re tough enough (read: lots of HP), you’ll probably shrug it off.
