Ark: Survival Ascended – How to Tame a Giant Bee

Prepping for the Mission

Before you head out, you gotta gear up:

Ghillie Gear (x1 Set): This ain’t just for show; it helps you blend in and stay off the radar.

Crossbow & Grapples (x1 and x4): These are your bread & butter for getting to those high-up beehives.

C4 Explosives & Remote (x4 & x1): Gonna use these bad boys to blow the hive and get the queen bee out.

Metal Pike (x1): Just in case things get a bit rough…

Rare Flowers (x10): These are like bee candy. It’s what you’ll feed the queen to tame her.

Sleeping Bags (x2): If things go south & you end up buyin’ the farm, these will save you a trip back.

Finding the Beehives

Now the fun begins. Head over to the Redwood area. Look up in the trees & you’ll spot those beehives chillin’ there. You’ll see ’em, they’re pretty big and hard to miss…

The Approach

Once you spot your target hive:

Grapple up. You wanna be level with the hive, maybe a bit past it. The grappling in this game can be kinda glitchy, so don’t stress if it takes a few tries.

Slap some C4 on that hive -> then get back to the ground and blow it up with your remote. Boom!! Out comes the queen bee.

The Taming Dance

Here’s where it gets tricky:

Get those rare flowers ready in your quick bar.

Wait for the queen to descend. Then, sneak up and feed her a flower (hit E); sounds simple right?? But here’s the catch sometimes the taming meter acts all weird & resets to zero

To fix this, switch to third-person view; it’s like magic… suddenly feeding the queen gets a whole lot easier.

Now, about those bee spawns – don’t bother fighting them. Just run in circles, keep your cool & focus on feeding the queen. It’s a bit of a runaround but hey that’s Ark for you…

Keep at it until the taming bar fills up & bam! You’ve got yourself a tamed bee queen.

After the Tame

Once she’s tamed, she’ll turn into a beehive right in your inventory. Place that down, fill it with more flowers & bam – you got yourself a honey factory…
