Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare – Inability to load in DirectX 12 mode – Issue Fix

Issue:

The game may get stuck at the intro loading screen when the DirectX 12 mode is selected.

 

 

Fix:

Follow these simple steps;

 

  • Go to the configuration file(s) location.

(%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\)

 

  • Open GameUserSettings.ini in a text editor.

 

  • Locate the PreferredGraphicsAPI=DX12 line.

 

  • Change it to PreferredGraphicsAPI=DX11 and save the file.
