There was once a time when games allowed us to activate cheats simply by entering cheat codes or enabling the developer console. Those days are long gone, and now, very few games have cheat and debug codes.

Cassette Beasts is an exhilarating adventure game inspired by Pokémon. Whether you want to dig deeper, experiment, or unlock exclusive features, there are various cheats available to assist you. This straightforward guide will help you with using the debug console, de-leveling, and unlocking custom modes.

Activating the Debug Console

Keyboard: Hold ‘Ctrl’ and type ‘cheats’.

Controller: Hold ‘LB + RB’ and input this sequence: Left, Up, Right, Up, Down, Left, Down, L3 (press the left stick like a button).

To display or hide the debug console, press ‘F1’ on a keyboard or ‘R3’ on a controller (press the right stick like a button).

Exercise caution while using the debug console to avoid soft-locking your game. To deactivate the debug console, re-enter the same cheat. Activating the debug console will log it in your save file and affect your in-game timer.

De-Leveling Your Character

This trick is for gamers who have leveled up excessively during the demo. If your level is 20 or lower, you probably don’t need this trick. However, if you’re above level 20, consider de-leveling or adjusting level scaling settings.

Make sure you’re not in a battle, dialogue, or cutscene.

Activate the debug console (refer to step 1).

Press ‘F1’ or ‘R3’ to display the console.

Type ‘player_level 10’ and press ‘Enter / Start’.

Type ‘partner_level 10’ and press ‘Enter / Start’.

Press ‘F1’ or ‘R3’ to hide the console.

Deactivate the debug console.

Unlocking Custom Game Modes

Cassette Beasts features built-in randomization and permadeath modes, typically unlocked after completing the game. To access these options using a cheat code, follow these steps:
