Controls for The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

PC Keyboard Controls

Moving Around

W: Move forward

S: Move back

A: Move left

D: Move right

Shift: Walk (slower movement)

Space (twice while pressing W/A/S/D): Roll in the direction you’re moving to dodge or move quickly. Just tap the direction twice quickly.

Interacting with the World

Left or right mouse button: Interact with objects or people around you.

Z: Use your medallion to detect magic or hidden objects nearby.

Ctrl: Open the quick menu for fast access to various features.

Combat Moves

1: Draw your steel sword (for humans and non-magical creatures) or another weapon.

2: Draw your silver sword (for monsters and magical creatures).

0: Put your sword away.

Left mouse button: Quick attack.

Right mouse button: Heavy attack.

Q or middle mouse button: Cast a magical sign (spell).

R: Use an item from your quickslot for a quick boost or effect.

E: Block incoming attacks.

X: Use a special skill or ability.

Navigating and Menus

I: Open your inventory to check your gear and items.

J: Open your journal to review quests and notes.

M: Open the map to see where you are and where to go next.

C: Check your character’s stats, skills, and level up.

Ctrl + Esc: Enter meditation mode to wait, heal, or brew potions.

Others

Esc: Exit the game or go back in menus.

F5: Quick save your game progress.

Insert: Toggle control schemes if available.

Quick Item and Spell Access

3: Cycle through your magical signs to select the one you want to use next.

4: Cycle through your quickslot items to select what you want to use quickly without opening the inventory.

Directional Dodging

To dodge or roll in a specific direction, quickly press the direction key (W/A/S/D) twice. It helps you avoid attacks or move swiftly in combat.

Xbox Controls

Basic Controls:

LT: Focus on an enemy.

LB: Open a quick-access menu.

Left Stick: Move your character.

Gear and Abilities:

Press Left Stick: Activate medallion for insights.

D-pad Up: Draw weapon.

D-pad Right: Draw silver sword.

D-pad Left: Draw steel sword.

D-pad Down: Sheathe your sword.

Combat Actions:

RT: Block or deflect attacks.

RB: Use whatever item you’ve got ready.

Y: Cast a magical sign.

X: Strong attack.

B: Dodge or roll away.

A: Quick attack or interact with the world.

Camera Control:

Right Stick Click: Look around or change targets.
