Dawn of Man – Fuel
To whip up some grub and keep your living spaces toasty, you’ve gotta fuel up your Hearths, Huts, Roundhouses, and Ovens. Sticks or logs are your go-to for this. Your crew will take care of refueling everything, unless you tell them to hit pause on any of these structures.
Hearth: This bad boy is crucial early on, giving your settlers a spot to cook and start baking bread.
- Costs: 2 Stones, 6 Sticks
- Perks: Cook and chow down on raw food here, plus it kicks out some heat.
Hut: Made of mud and topped with a thatched roof, huts not only give some of your folks a roof over their heads, but they can also cook in there. They’re sturdier than tents but still need a little TLC and repairs now and then.
- Costs: 1 Log, 4 Sticks, 2 Straw, 4 Mud
- Perks: Lasts for 5 years, resources stored here stay good 2x longer, you can cook and eat raw food, it provides heat, adds 2 prestige, and it can house 4 people.
Roundhouse: This stone house is a solid choice once you’ve got masonry down. It gives a few villagers a place to rest and cook.
- Costs: 4 Stone, 2 Log, 4 Sticks, 3 Straw
- Perks: Stands strong for 8 years, resources last 2.5x longer, cook/eat raw food, gives off heat, adds 3 prestige, and houses 5 people.
Oven: This enclosed chamber is all about baking bread. It’s a communal hub where everyone comes together.
- Costs: 2 Stone, 6 Mud
- Perks: Cook and eat raw food, plus it provides heat.
Sticks: Whether you’re building, crafting, or fueling, sticks are your basic resource.
- Stats: Good for 1 year.
Log: Logs step up your construction game and can also be used as fuel.
- Stats: Good for 2 years.
