How To Make Money Fast
Treasure hunting is the best and quickest way to make money in Dinkum. After earning some cash/dinks early on in the game, spend 7000 Dinks at John’s Store to buy the Metal Detector. Then you can use it to detect objects hidden in the earth on the island – or in the mines. Search the mines for rubies if you want to make the most money. They are valuable stones that should fetch a high price at John’s Store. After you’ve unlocked the Mines area, descend into the mines by elevator and look for rubies. You could easily find up to four rubies there every day. They should be worth 35,000–75,000 Dinks each at John’s Store.
Selling rubies is a simple way to make hundreds of thousands of Dinks every day. Other useful items that you can find in the mines include Green Board, Old Keys, Shiny Discs, Hot Cylinder, and Old Contraption. Important note about the Metal Detector: do not sell Old Keys or Shiny Discs to John! Old Keys are used to open Mine Gates, and the items you find in there will almost certainly be worth more than the Old Key you sell.
How to Find Ted Selly “The Mysterious Visitor” in Dinkum
Dinkum is populated by a diverse cast of characters. Ted Selly is one of them. You will need to wait until it rains before you can find Ted Selly, the Mysterious Visitor. When it is raining or windy (you’ll know because leaves fly around the screen), you must leave the village. He appears at random throughout the various biomes. While moving around, keep an ear out for a whistle. You won’t be able to ignore it because it is very loud. It sounds like it belongs in a western cowboy movie. The whistle indicates his presence. Search for a man with a bucket on his head.
Ted Selly buys bugs/fish/animal drops and sells high-end weapons (Battle Shovel, Bone Bow, Bone Arrow, Croco Berley Box, Devil Berley Box, Shark Berley Box) and lures. You can also use the shark bait to obtain the meat known as flake. You can cook fish and chips with that, a dish that greatly promotes fishing. Regardless of how bad your rod is, you can pull the fish quickly when using the shark bait. When a fish bites, an iron fishing rod usually allows you to catch it all at once.
