EA Sports FC 24: How to Defend Free Kicks

13

Hey EA FC Fans!! If you’re getting straight-up played because of those free kicks in FC 24, I gotchu. We’re going to dive deep into how to keep that ball outta your net… With the fresh mechanics in FC 24, everybody’s been thinking they’re the next Messi or Ronaldo, thinking they can just sink goals from free kicks left and right. Nah, not on our watch! Here’s the lowdown on how to stand tall and keep that clean sheet.

A Changing Landscape

First off, let’s acknowledge that FC 24 ain’t playin’ around; it evolves just like real-world soccer. Remember when players started sneaking those free kicks under the wall? Yeah, well, FC 24 caught onto that too. The game’s been updated to match how pros and coaches tweak their tactics, so it’s mad realistic.

Lying Down Behind the Wall

How to Do It??

Alright, here’s the first dope trick. You can have one of your players lie down behind the wall to block those low-height shots. Wanna know how to pull it off in FC 24? Check this:

Select a player: Pick someone who’s chillin’ outside the wall.

Walk ’em over: Get your player to the back of the wall.

Automatically drop: Once you’re in the right spot, your dude will lie down on his own. No extra buttons, no fuss.

When to Do It??

Now, you might be thinkin’, When should I actually do this? Bruh, especially in those slow, grind-it-out matches where every play counts, you gotta use this trick. Losing momentum is a no-no, so make sure to drop that player down when the time’s right.

Building and Managing The Wall

Forming the Wall

When it comes to the wall, think of it like your front-line defense. But you’ve gotta know how to control it, or else it’s just a bunch of dudes blocking the goalie’s view.

Moving the Wall

Forward: Tap that X if you’re on PS4 or PS5, and A if you’re on Xbox One or Series X|S. Just don’t get too trigger happy or you’ll end up with a yellow card…

Leaping: You can have the wall jump to intercept the ball by hittin’ Triangle or Y.

Sideways: Wanna shuffle the wall left or right? Easy, use RT/R2 & LT/L2.

Who’s in the Wall?

Here’s another pro tip; You can swap players in and out of the wall… Hit L1/LB and pick the tallest players to up your chances of blocking that free kick.
