EA Sports FC 24: How to Do the Griddy Celebration
What Is “The Griddy”?
So what is this hype all about? “The Griddy” is this bomb dance move that first took the world by storm when it hit the NFL scene as a touchdown celebration in 2020. It quickly became a regular feature in the sport, and by 2022, it had caught on like wildfire among soccer players too.
Now, The Griddy is a celebration that’s been used by athletes across a bunch of sports. Think of it as the next big thing since the iconic ‘Dab’ routine, Cristiano Ronaldo’s ‘Siu!’ pirouette, or Erling Haaland’s ‘Meditation’ pose. Big names in football like Chelsea and USMNT star Christian Pulisic have been seen hitting The Griddy in games, including a Champions League match against Lille where he dropped it like it’s hot after scoring a goal.
The dance move is a real vibe. You do a sort of skip forward with the back of your heels while swinging your arms back and forth, then you bring your fingers up to your eyes to form a glasses-like shape. It’s a dance originally created by Allen Davis, who’s also known by his nickname ‘Griddy.’ This dude was a high school American football player when he came up with this dance and uploaded it to YouTube. Since then, it’s been popping up in sports, Fortnite, and TikTok videos.
