EA Sports FC 24: How to Execute the Drag Back Fake

First off, what the heck is a Drag Back Fake? It’s like the ankle-breaker of FC 24, the sorta move that leaves defenders bamboozled, wonderin’ which way you went. Think of soccer legends like Messi, Neymar, and Mbappé. These dudes are magicians with the ball, and they’ll pull off a Drag Back Fake IRL like it’s nothin’.

In the real world, you’ll often see this move in tight spaces where players need to shake off defenders, create some room, and set up a killer shot or pass. This ain’t your grandma’s skill move, fam. You need some serious stick skills and timing for this.

How to Nail the Drag Back Fake

Imagine you’re dribbling down the field, right? Defender’s closing in, and you need to shake ’em. That’s where the Drag Back Fake comes in. Your player drags the ball back like he’s gonna retreat, but sike! He fakes and bolts in the opposite direction, leaving the defender in the dust. This move is all about deception. You gotta make the opponent think you’re goin’ one way and then BOOM!

Controls:

PS4 & PS5: Hold L1 + R1

Xbox One & Series X|S: Hold LB + RB

Now, while you’re holding those buttons, flick your left stick in the opposite direction you’re movin’. This drags the ball back, right??

Quickly flick that same left stick left and then right, but make it perpendicular to the direction you’re originally facing. If you pull this off right, your player will drag the ball back, look one way, and then cut hard the opposite way. Defender = fooled.

Where to Bust it Out: Location, Location, Location

Inside the Box:

Here it’s lethal, fam. Defenders hardly ever see it coming, and you can use it to create an insane angle for a shot. We’re talking top bins, baby!

Midfield:

You can use it to shake off some midfield pressure and open up passing lanes. A well-timed Drag Back Fake can be the key to unlockin’ a tight defense.

When to flex with the Drag Back Fake?

Imagine this: there’s a defender gunning straight for you. It’s a 1v1 showdown. You stop the ball, he thinks he’s got you, but nah! Hit him with the Drag Back Fake and watch as you leave him in your rearview. It’s straight-up killer for those tight situations where you gotta get past that one dude trying to cramp your style…
