EA Sports FC 24: How to Fake Pass

EA FC 24 Haaland Fake Pass

Why You Should Care About the Fake Pass

First off, why the Fake Pass? If you’re wondering, it’s like the soccer version of a pump fake in basketball, aight? When executed right, it’ll make your opponent bite on a pass that never comes, giving you that sweet, sweet space to either shoot or set up something even more spectacular…

How to Fake Pass in FC 24

The basic Fake Pass isn’t complicated, but you gotta be on point with your button mashing…

  • PlayStation: Hold down R2, then hit either â–¢ or â—¯, and finally tap X.

  • Xbox: Hold RT, then press either X or B, and lastly hit Y.

  • Nintendo Switch: If you’re on the Switch, it’s basically the same as Xbox. Hold ZR, press either Y or A, and then hit X.

Advanced Fake Pass Techniques

Feeling like a pro already? Cool, ’cause now we’re going to break down some more advanced tactics.

Static Fake Pass

This is the Fake Pass at its most basic. You’re standing still, you perform the move & hopefully you’ve got your opponent’s head spinning.

  • PS 4 & PS5: R2 + Circle, then X

  • Xbox: RT + B, then A

  • Nintendo Switch: ZR + A, then B

Left Exit Fake Pass

This one adds a directional element, letting you exit out to the top-left after faking your pass.

  • PlayStation: R2 + Circle, then X + Left Stick to the top-left

  • Xbox: RT + B, then A + Left Stick to the top-left

  • Nintendo Switch: ZR + A, then B + Left Stick to the top-left

Right Exit Fake Pass

Basically the same as the Left Exit Fake Pass, but this time you’re darting off to the top-right.

  • PlayStation: R2 + Circle, then X + Left Stick to the top-right

  • Xbox: RT + B, then A + Left Stick to the top-right

  • Nintendo Switch: ZR + A, then B + Left Stick to the top-right

Tips

  • The Fake Pass is most effective when you’re relatively stationary, especially in the midfield where you’ve got options all around you…

  • Don’t go popping off Fake Passes every two seconds. Use it when it’s gonna make a real difference, like faking out a defender to free up a striker.

  • Fernando Diaz

Fernando is doing what he always did, sharing his honest opinions about games whenever he can. The difference is now he is writing and not talking about it.
