EA Sports FC 24: How to Perform a Volley Instead of a Header
In FC 24, a volley ain’t just any kick when the ball’s up in the air. It’s all about that mid-air finesse. Whether your player hits it first time or does a quick touch with the head, chest, or even the knee, if they smack it before it hits the ground, you got yourself a volley.
Why Volleys?
So why are volleys such a big deal? Easy. A volleyed shot is like a lightning bolt… It’s so quick that those defenders and the keeper won’t have time to get in position. And if you get a solid connection you can put some serious heat on that ball. Some of those Ultimate Team objectives want you to score with volleys. So you know, gotta get those coins!
No Volley Button, but Players Make the Difference
Ain’t no specific “volley button” in FC 24. If the ball’s airborne and chillin’ at the right height, just smash that shoot button (Circle/B, you know the drill) when the ball’s cruisin’ close and below your player’s noggin. Boom, volley magic.
While there’s no magic button to guarantee a volley, you can stack the odds in your favor by picking players with insane volley skills. I’m talking about the legends, the big dogs of the football world. Lautaro Martínez, Paul Pogba, Lionel Messi and the one and only Erling Haaland. These are the dudes you want on your team if you’re looking to smash some volleys.
Cross it Like You Mean it!
Looking to score with style? When you’re running down the wing, all fast-break style, scope out your squad on the opposite side. Find that dude with the most space and once you’re lining up with the box, whip that cross over. Remember: not enough juice and a defender might snag it. Too much and your guy’s just heading it, which ain’t the vibe we’re going for.
Lofty Goals with Lofted Passes
For the real FIFA OGs, try this: when you’re up in the enemy’s penalty area, send a cheeky, light lofted pass. It’s kinda tricky ‘cause you gotta get that power just right. But nail it and you got a banger of a volley coming up.
Corner Kick Shenanigans
You know when a defender tries to head a corner away? That’s your cue. Wait for that ball to drop near one of your mates outside the box. It’s a tough shot, loads of bodies blocking, but man, when you pull it off, it’s straight fire…
