EA Sports FC 24: How to Switch Players
Manual Switching
Just tap the ‘LB’ on Xbox (L1 on PlayStation). That’ll cycle you through your players. This is your go-to for quick switches when the ball’s loose or in the air.
Automatic Switching
EA’s got you with a lil’ help! The game will auto-switch for you based on the scenario:
Air Balls: When that ball goes airborne, the game is gonna switch you to the player best positioned to get it.
Loose Balls: If the ball’s just rolling around with no one claiming it, the game will help you out and switch to the closest player.
Right Stick Switching
Directional Mastery: Instead of relying on the LB or L1 button to cycle through players, you can use the right stick (R-stick) to switch to the player in the direction you push. So, if your homie is upfield and you wanna switch to him, just push that R-stick upwards.
Goalkeeper Control
To take control as the goalie, just hold down the LB & RB buttons together on Xbox (or L1 & R1 on PlayStation). Now you’re the last line of defense!!
Icon Switching
You ever see those icons above the player’s heads? Those are not just for decoration. Each player has a corresponding face button. To switch directly to that player, just press their face button. On PS5 that’s X, Circle, Triangle, and Square. For Xbox, it’s A, B, Y, and X. So if your main man on the pitch has the ‘X’ or ‘A’ icon above him, press that to take control.
Enabling Auto Switching Assistance in EA FC
- If you’re rolling with ‘Auto’, you can choose how the game assists you:
- Under Settings and ‘Controls’, check out Auto Switching Move Assistance…
- Options are None, Low or High. It’s about your preference and how you flow.
Set Pieces & Corners
- When you’re lined up for a free kick, you can switch between kicktakers by pressing the R2/RT button. This way, you can choose between that power shot or a sneaky curve, depending on who’s taking the kick..
- Tryna get your tall player on the end of that corner? Switch to him using the right stick & then move him into position. Time to score some headers…
