eFootball 2023: How to Score Free Kicks – Tips and Tricks

22 1

Scoring free kicks in eFootball 2023 can be crucial especially in online matches against tough opponents where the competition is fiercer. This quick guide offers tips & tricks to help you maximize your success rate when taking free kicks. Don’t forget to practice these techniques in training mode before applying them in actual matches.

Choosing the right free kick taker

Pick a player with whom you feel comfortable taking free kicks. Each player has a unique feel, and occasionally, a lower-rated player may be the better choice based on their set-piece style.

Avoid straight shots

Direct shots aimed at the wall tend to be less effective, often hitting the wall or flying over the bar. Increase your success rate by curving the ball over the wall instead.

To curve the ball up over the wall, aim the camera toward the center of the goal where the goalkeeper is positioned. Hold the power at around 60% while pulling the L stick slightly back and fully to the opposite side. If the kick is farther out adjust the power accordingly. This technique is most effective for kicks ranging from the edge of the box to 26-28 meters out.

Taking long range free kicks

For more distant free kicks, point the camera slightly to the left or right of the wall. Maintain the power at around 75% and push the L stick forward and slightly away from the goalkeeper. Although these kicks have a lower success rate, they can still occasionally result in a goal.

Unconventional side free kicks

You can score by aiming the camera at the far side of the wall and using the same L stick movement as mentioned earlier (pulling back and all the way to the opposite side). Alternatively, point the camera slightly toward the goalkeeper and hold the L stick slightly back and away from them to execute an outside-of-the-boot shot.

Counter your opponent’s goalkeeper control

If your opponent manually controls their goalkeeper, they might reposition their keeper to counter the curved free kick. To combat this, aim the camera at the side of the wall where the goalkeeper is standing, hold your power at around 50% (or more if you’re farther away), and push the Left stick forward to add extra power. If they move their keeper, they’ll leave the opposite side of the goal vulnerable, allowing the ball to find its way in.
