If F1 is your life but you’re itching for even more thrill, picture this: you’re finding racing icons making quick strategy calls during pit stops, and commanding a squad that swaps tires super quick. F1® Manager 2024 puts you in charge! This quick guide is like a secret pass to creating a top notch team perfect for newbies or die-hard F1 lovers… We’re off to the races fellas!!!
Squad Name
Kick things off by dreaming up an epic F1 squad name. This is where your creative juices need to flow… You want something that captures your vibe, something that makes a mark on the track. Whether it’s a name that’s fierce, makes folks chuckle, or is just outright slick, make sure it pops out when you’re on the starting line.
Selecting Your Roots
Coming up you gotta choose one out of the 6 beginnings for your squad. Every beginning comes with its own kickoff spot and unique obstacles… Quick overview for ya:
The Story: Shape your challenge just how you like. Crank up the difficulty or keep it chill.
Hungry newcomer: Beginning with a less-than-stellar car, setup, team and crew. This is the toughest default setting, pushing your management talent.
Technical breakthrough: Kick off with a killer car and ace team, but poor digs and so-so racers.
Phoenix rising: You’ve got amazing facilities and solid crew, but your car could use a makeover. Breathe life back into a faded legend and take them back to the top…
Industry giant: Kick things off with a top-notch car, killer facilities and ace drivers and staff (second easiest).
Automotive legacy: You start in a good spot with an okay car and facilities that do the job.
Picking Your Initial Funds
Cash is what drives the world, and that’s true for F1 too. Picking how much you kick off with is key. Your choices range from 2 to 50 million bucks. Starting with more cash gives you a smooth start, but running the show on a tight budget is an entertaining challenge that forces you to be smart with your cash.
Landing Sponsor Deals
Got your money sorted? Great, now it’s sponsor time. These backers are super important to keep your bank balance healthy and help you grow. Negotiations with them come up just after you get the ball rolling. They have three ways to give you money: a lump sum upfront, cash for fan engagement, and payouts on race days.
- You receive this cash right away. With a small starting balance, focus on immediate cash for a bigger early budget.
- Up to five additional backers are an option, and they might offer immediate cash too. Stack these for the most cash at the start.
Facilities
Your team’s facilities are the backbone of your operations. Even if you go for the maximum quality, you can’t exceed level three initially. Move levels around to focus on different aspects, like Car Development, Scouting Hub, Team Hub, etc. If you have a great Design Center but a weak Factory you might struggle to produce parts. Balance your facilities to cover all essential areas without neglecting any critical ones.
Car Performance Levels
Your car’s performance will significantly impact your season. Here’s what you can expect from each level:
Level 1: You’ll be at the back of the grid, making this the most challenging start. Development is crucial.
Level 2: Slightly better than Level 1, but still a back marker. You’ll have a fighting chance at the back.
Level 3: Got yourself a middle-of-the-pack ride. Snagging points is possible when things go your way. Making smart choices is super important.
Level 4: You’re in the mix for top positions. People see you as a real contender.
Level 5: Podium and race win potential. You’re almost at the top but still need some work to compete with the best.
Picking Drivers and Staff
Your drivers and staff are the heart of your team. Here’s how to get it right:
- Driver ratings range from 40 to 90+. High-rated drivers come with high wages, so balance their cost with your budget.
- In F1 24, you’ve got the option to choose either drivers from the actual world or make up your own. Coming up with your own drivers is a cool option if you’re into spotting fresh faces.
- Pick your technical chief, head of aerodynamics, sporting director, and race engineers. You can go for real or generated staff as well.
Engine Picks
Mercedes: Reliable tank, runs forever. Like your trusty old controller.
Honda/Ferrari: Crazy fast, but need more maintenance. Fancy controller with all the buttons!
Renault: Best on gas, but not the strongest. Plays all day, but might struggle on hard levels.
