FIFA 20 Volta League
/VOLTA League is a similar mode to that of the Online Seasons of FIFA games past. In VOLTA League, you’ll play against other players in online matches in order to earn promotion to higher leagues. You’ll be able to choose a home turf that best suits what you enjoy in VOLTA Football. You can also choose your favored style of play.
VOLTA League allows you to play against your friends, too, with home and away matches to boot. Just as there are promotions, however, there are relegations, too, so best keep those VOLTA skills sharp and well-practiced.
In order to provide an authentic experience of street football, there are a number of different arenas available to play in.
They include: a neighbourhood cage in London, an underpass in Amsterdam, a rooftop in Tokyo and more.
One expects that there will inevitably be professional Volta players at some point too, if the FIFA Esports scene is any sort of indicator.
Volta matches themselves feel very reminiscent of the 2012 FIFA Street reboot–while there is a greater focus on skills and showing off than is found in regular soccer, it’s not as over-the-top as the previous Street games were. There are no gamebreakers or classes, and the control scheme carries over from regular FIFA, a move EA says is designed to help players transition between the two otherwise diametrically opposed ways of playing.
Keeping Up Appearances. Developing your style is key to street football, so it only makes sense that it plays a big part in Volta. A whole suite of vanity items – ranging from branded sportswear to neon pink shorts – are earnable through Volta coins, the in-game currency you earn by playing matches and completing challenges – it cannot be purchased with real money. Clothing can be applied to your whole team as well as your own created character, with these items regularly being updated as a live service in an attempt to keep you coming back to Volta to earn new wacky items and show off to others.
