Failed To Initialize Steam Error Fix

Players are reporting that when they launch Gears Tactics, it crashes instantly with “Failed To Initialize Steam” error. This error pops up due to either Steam or the game not having administrative rights, here is how to fix it.

If you aren’t playing on an administrative Windows account then use one as it is one of the reasons why this error is popping up. If you are, then right-click on Steam’s exe > properties > Compatibility tab > check “run this program as an administrator”.

Apply the change and do the game for Gear Tactic’s exe file. Launch the game and the error will be fixed and the game will work.

If the error persists then download the Steam installer. Run it and choose to repair it to fix the issue.

Players are reporting that they are getting the “Graphics Card Not Detected” errors with error code GT103 while trying to launch the game. If you are playing on Windows7 then, the issues the is OS as Gears Tactics can only be played on Windows 10.

However, if you are using Windows 10 and still getting the error then try starting your system and make sure you have installed the latest GPU drivers.

If by chance the error is popping up on a laptop then the issue might be the game not using the dedicated GPU instead it runs on the integrated one. For Nvidia GPU users, open Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings > select the game from the drop-down menu and if it isn’t there then add it. Once selected, under step 1 -> pick the NON integrated GPU option and apply the change.

For AMD GPU users, open Device Manager, and under display adapters, there will two options. Right-click on the integrated GPU and disable it. This will disable the integrated GPU and your laptop will only use the dedicated GPU. This method will also work for Nvidia users and the issue will be resolved.
