Heroes of Hammerwatch 2: How to Reset Progress (Keep Your Saves)

Wanna start fresh in Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 without, like deleting everything?? Perhaps your build isn’t going right, or you simply want a fresh start. Well good news… you can do this without wiping everything you’ve done up until that point. It’s kinda like hitting that “new game” button, except that old character is safe, tucked away.

Here’s how it goes:

First off you’ve got to access your game’s secret menu, kind of. It is called the console. In opening it up, just tap that little key with a squiggly line on it – the tilde ~. it usually just hangs out underneath your Esc key & left of the 1 on your keyboard. Give it a press and a little text box should pop up.

Now in that text box, you’re gonna type in this little command:

save g_save_slot 2

save g_save_slot will be the key command, so to say, whereas 2 stands for choosing a new save slot. The game is being told: “Okay let my current progress in this game be tucked away into number 2, just in case. You could even use other numbers like 3/4 if you want more separate save files later on.

After having typed that and pressed Enter, you are almost there. Now you gotta restart the game. Yeah, close it completely and then fire it back up again; that just makes the change stick.

Yeah, just load it up, and-voilà!! You’ll be back at the start for a whole new adventure. Your old character isn’t lost, and neither is your progress. They are there, nice and safe in save slot number 0, where most games usually store your first save.

Now if you ever need to revert to your original character, it is the same idea. Open that console again by hitting the tilde key ~ & type this in:

save g_save_slot 0

See?? Change the 2 to a 0. You’ve then got to restart the game again. Boom, you are back to your old save.
