Heroes of Hammerwatch 2: How to Access the Debug Menu for Cheats & Tweaks (Modded Profiles)

Did you know that Heroes of Hammerwatch II has a secret menu through which you can modify all these really cool variables? It’s almost like looking behind the curtains of this game! I mean, being able to view save information, turn on cheats, or even snag free stuff from shops! Now, a quick but important heads-up: it seems for now, this debug menu trick only works in the game’s demo version. For the full game, enabling cheats on any normal, unmodded profile just won’t work. But still, developers have said via later Steam Workshop support, even for modded profiles in the full game, this functionality will also be available. Well, demo players, get experimenting! Full game users, patience-the modding community will unlock this potential soon!

How to Access the Debug Menu in Heroes of Hammerwatch 2

Ok so during the demo all you had to do was press that tilde key (~) and that’s usually just sitting around below your Escape key. That opens up a small console where you can type things.

Now we tell the game that it’s OK to use such special commands. Type this and press Enter:

e_cheats 1

And now behind the scenes, cheats are on. You don’t see that anything happened but believe me.

Up next, and more importantly, is to actually be able to view that menu. Type in the console the following and hit Enter: cs_show_menu 1

Well, what is there to do in this menu actually?

This menu is a treasure trove of information and options. You will probably see details about your currently played game save, like your level and progress, but the real fun lies in the cheat options. Think things like god mode-invincibility, free shops-shop ’til you drop without spending a dime!-and no clip-walk through walls like a ghost!.

Beyond cheats, you may also find tweaks for things like the way the game looks, such as rendering options, and other interesting bits and bobs. It’s a playground to experiment in and see what’s under the hood.
