How to Do a Fantasy Draft in NBA 2K23

Fantasy Drafts are extremely rewarding in NBA 2K23. You can test out a real-life team and take them to victory. You can also create your dream teams with retired players, which is otherwise impossible in a real setting. The NBA Fantasy Draft is a dream come true for every NBA fan. Here are the steps you need to follow to put together the ideal team.

HOW TO SET UP FOR A FANTASY DRAFT IN NBA 2K23

You will need to create a New League in order to do a Fantasy Draft.

Launch the game and Select MyLeague, then select New MyLeague.

Create a Custom League and pick Start in Regular Season.

Select the teams you want to include in the league.

Once you’re done, go to Setup Options and toggle on Fantasy Draft. Once you switch it on, you will have access to a different set of settings such as:

Draft Order – Toggle it on so that you can change your draft order as you like. It’s preferable to place your team at the top so that you get the early picks.

Draft Type – Determines the draft spot of every team. Fixed means every team remains in the same spot after every round. The position changes if you activate Serpentine, allowing every team an equal opportunity to pick good players.

Player Pool – Determines the player pool of the draft.

Allow Duplicates – Lets you decide whether you want to allow duplicate versions of players to be drafted or not.

Once you’re done with the settings, name your League.

Once you’ve created a new league, pick your team.

Set all settings to manual so that you can control everything.

Select the Draft Order. To make sure you get the first pick, select your team and swap it with the first position.

Now select Choose Player and start the drafting process.

HOW TO PROPERLY DRAFT IN NBA 2K23?

Keep note of the salary cap. You’re building a team, so spending all your funds on high-quality players is not an option.

Search for valuable players that have good contracts and badges.

For the first two to three picks, focus on the biggest talent available in the draft pool. After that, start looking for discounts.

Make a rough list of the players you want to hire so that you have something to guide you through the process.

If a player is too expensive, then look harder as there are always 5-10 players who can do a better/similar job at a similar/lower salary.

Rounds 10 through 14 are the money saving rounds. These players won’t be playing anyway, as most people adhere to 10-man rotations. The goal is to hire someone who you can develop into a solid player. But if you want to save money, just pick someone with a lower salary.

Drafting is a long and arduous process that requires a lot of practice. It’s better to do a few trial runs since your first draft will likely go badly. Always remember to focus on player stats, good contracts, and badges.
