How to Get to Nighon – Might and Magic VII: For Blood and Honor
If you’re aiming to reach Nighon & you don’t have access to those handy teleportation spells like Lloyd’s Beacon or Town Portal, you’re gonna have to navigate the old-fashioned way through some underground routes. Your starting point is Stone City located in the Barrow Downs where the entrance to the Nighon Tunnels awaits.
Here’s a quick side note for those who prefer a more magical approach: To use Town Portal, your party needs a member with MASTER level in Water Magic… which is a whole quest in itself. For Sorcerers, they need to be promoted to Wizard status & must have the spellbook to learn the spell.
Achieving MASTER level requires bumping up from EXPERT & piling up 7 skill points… & you can only get this training on Mt Nighon. So to actually get there, you must navigate through a series of linked caves & tunnels: starting with the Troglodyte Caves in Stone City, plowing through the Nighon Tunnels & finally, crossing Thunderfist Mountain.
Now if you’re gunning for the Land of the Giants, the route’s gonna take you through Thunderfist Mountain & then the Tunnels to Eofol until you find yourself out in the open air…
Beware though, the Nighon Tunnels are no joke – it’s like walking into a war zone. Dwarves & Warlocks are constantly at it with the likes of Gogs & Magogs. A Fire Resistance Spell will do wonders here, trust me & keep your eyes peeled for traps – they’re pretty much around every corner…
We’ve got some maps below to help you out: they’ll point you to the Nighon Tunnels’ entrance & guide you through to Mt Nighon. Don’t skip ‘em –> they’re crucial & might just keep you from backtracking.
