How to Repair Gear in Jagged Alliance 3
If you’re playing Jagged Alliance 3, you’ve probably noticed that your gear takes a beating as you blaze through those missions. It’s pretty annoying when that favorite weapon of yours starts underperforming, right? Don’t worry, I’m here to guide you on how to repair your items and keep your squad in prime condition.
Meet Your Best Friend, the Mechanic:
Let’s get one thing straight—before you even think about repairs, you need a Mechanic in your squad. These are the folks who can breathe life back into your damaged items. And we’re not talking about any old Mechanic, your guy or gal needs to have a skill level over 50 or 60. The better they are at their job, the better for your gear.
All About the Parts:
Now, your mechanic can’t work magic without some resources. They’re going to need parts. You know, the stuff you use to modify weapons? Yeah, those also come in handy for repairs. So, be sure to have a decent stash of parts at all times.
Kickstarting the Repair Process:
You’ve got your skilled Mechanic and a pile of parts. Now, let’s get to the actual repair process:
- First off, hit the ‘M’ key to pull up the Strategic Map Screen.
- Now, scope out the Operations tab. It’s located right next to the progression bar at the bottom of the screen.
- In there, you’ll spot the ‘Repair Items’ operation. Click on that, and you’ll be all set to start repairing.
Choose Your Mechanic and Identify Damaged Items:
- Once you’re in the ‘Repair Items’ operation, you get to pick your Mechanic. If you have more than one, pick two! It’ll speed things up.
- After that, it’s time to decide which items need some TLC. Hit the ‘Pick Item’ option and you’ll see all your damaged gear.
- From here, move the items you want to fix into the ‘Queued Items’ section. You can manually select each item, or simply hit ‘Auto-fill’ for convenience.
Let the Repairs Begin:
- Now that your items are queued up, the repair process begins. The time it takes depends on the number of Mechanics and the level of damage.
- Want to speed things up? Get more Mechanics on the job. It can shave hours off the process.
- Once you’ve started repairs, you can use the Play Button on the progression bar to advance time and finish up faster.
- When time runs out, your items will be fully restored and returned to your inventory.
