How to Use Call of Duty: Mobile Controller Support
Using a mobile phone as a controller isn’t for everyone, so Call of Duty: Mobile allows you to sync your mobile to a console controller for use in the game.
As it stands, the official Xbox One and PS4 Dualshock 4 controllers are compatible with the mobile game, with the exception of first-generation controllers.
Controllers can only be used during games, such as in multiplayer or the Battle Royale mode, with the touch-screen interface of the mobile still being needed to navigate the main menu, lobby, and in-game menus.
To pair and sync your controller with Call of Duty: Mobile, follow these steps:
- First of all, you’ll need to turn on your device’s Bluetooth – usually found in the phone’s Settings app.
- Next, when on in your device’s Bluetooth menu, you’ll need to pair your console controller to your mobile via Bluetooth.
Xbox One: Press and hold the Sync Button and the Xbox Button on the controller.
PlayStation 4: Press and hold the Share Button and the PS Button on the controller.
- If your controller doesn’t connect the first time or an error appears, simply try again a few times until it sticks.
- Make sure that your controller is very close to your phone while attempting this process.
- On your mobile, tap on the Bluetooth connection of your chose controller and accept the pairing.
- Go into the Call of Duty: Mobile app, into the settings menu, select the Controller tab, and then the Settings sub-tab.
- You should see that the first heading, Connect Controller, is followed by a little button that reads ‘Connected,’ which means that your console controller is now connected to Call of Duty: Mobile.
- You may have to tick the box underneath for Enable Controller Support, but this is usually switched on by default.
- Now, you can use your PS4 or Xbox One controller in CoD: Mobile. You should note that to limit lag, you need to play with your controller as close to your mobile as possible.
