Dogs are found by breaking down a fallen tree. They will follow the monarch/player who freed them and keep them company, and will occasionally bark at incoming enemies.

 

They can also be kidnapped because if attacked by enemies, enemies will pick them up and carry them away, so be cautious if you want to keep your dog safe.

 

If you use a teleporter, the dog will not come with you; instead, it will run across the island to reach you.

 

Once kidnapped, the dog will be unavailable until you either destroy the cliff portal on the island where it was kidnapped and escape, or until you can obtain a new dog after a game over.
