In Might and Magic VII: For Blood and Honor, when you choose the Path of Dark, your party aligns with the forces of darkness. Let’s take a deeper dive into what this path entails:

 

Once Judge Sleen is in position in Harmondale, your next destination is Castle Gloaming in the Pit, where you must meet Archibald.

 

Before you can interact with Archibald’s advisors, you need to overcome a challenge similar to the Walls of Mist located in the Breeding Zone of the Pit. Fight your way through the creatures blocking your path. Once you’ve overcome this challenge, you can engage with Archibald’s advisors in the first section of the Pit city. These advisors include Kastore, Dark Shade, Maximus, and Tolberti.

 

You are required to complete the quests given by Kastore, Dark Shade, and Maximus before you can begin Tolberti’s quest:

 

 

Kastore’s Quest

Kastore requires you to retrieve altar pieces from the hostile Temple of Light, which is guarded by Angels and Clerics of the Sun. Whereas the Path of Light party might have found peace here, your party will instead face a battleground.

 

 

Dark Shade’s Quest

Dark Shade assigns you the task of clearing out Clanker’s Lab, located on the islands off the coast of the Tularean Forest. Use the Fly or Water Walk spell to reach the islands, then eliminate all the Gogs, Golems, and Floating Eyes in the lab. Report back to Dark Shade once you’ve finished.

 

 

Maximus’s Quest

Like Sir Caneghem, Maximus wants you to retrieve soul jars from Thunderfist Mountain on Mount Nighon. This dungeon is riddled with threats such as Minotaurs, Warlocks, and Floating Eyes. The soul jars will be in a chest in the Warlocks’ living quarters. Bring them back to Maximus once you find them.

 

 

Tolberti’s Quest

After completing the previous quests, Tolberti will assign you the task of assassinating Robert the Wise in Celeste. Robert is a formidable opponent, known as a Blaster Guy, so ensure you’re adequately prepared. Return to Tolberti after you’ve completed this task.

 

After you undertake the task of assassinating Robert the Wise, you will find out that Archibald has relinquished his leadership of the Necromancers and taken refuge in Clanker’s Lab. Tolberti will inform you of this change and instruct you to visit Kastore in Castle Gloaming.

 

The final step of the third section in the Path of Dark narrative is to follow Archibald to Clanker’s Lab, setting the stage for the next phase of your dark journey. Be prepared for whatever might be waiting there.
