Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord – How Tournament Betting Works
In Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord, tournament betting provides an exhilarating opportunity to showcase your skills in the arena, earn gold, and gain renown.
Locating a Tournament
To engage in tournament betting, first locate a town hosting a tournament. Be on the lookout for the tournament icon displayed on the town’s nameplate. Once you’ve identified a town with an active tournament, make your way to the arena.
Stepping into the Arena
Upon entering the arena, you’ll encounter three options: enter the tournament, watch the tournament, or view the leaderboards. To begin betting, choose “Enter the Tournament.” Keep in mind that in the base game, you can only bet on yourself, though certain mods may allow you to bet on other participants.
Tournament Formats and Betting Mechanics
Bannerlord tournaments can take various forms, such as 1v1, 2v2, or even larger team battles. When betting, you’re essentially predicting your advancement to the next round. To place a bet, select the “Bet” option and decide on the amount of gold to wager. The maximum bet and potential payout depend on the odds, which are influenced by your character’s skills and the tournament’s difficulty level.
Betting Tips and Strategies
- In the initial rounds, bet cautiously, as payouts increase throughout the tournament.
- Be mindful of the odds and adjust your bets accordingly. Higher odds suggest a tougher match, so consider betting less.
- Consider acquiring the “Deep Pockets” perk, which doubles the maximum betting amount, potentially yielding larger profits.
Combat Techniques for Maximizing Wins
To enhance your chances of victory and capitalize on your bets, employ the following combat techniques:
- Feinting: Fake an attack by initiating a swing, then abruptly change direction. This tactic may force your opponent to switch from offense to defense, providing you an opening to strike.
- Circling: Orbiting your opponent can disorient them, making it simpler for you to land successful hits.
- Dodging: As your opponent nears, deftly move aside to evade their attack and counterattack when they’re exposed.
- Managing Companions and Skill Gains: When your companions participate in tournaments, they can acquire skill points in the weapons they wield, as well as in riding and athletics. However, they will only earn these points if you observe their fights rather than skipping to your turn.
Cashing Out and Profiting
After winning the tournament, you’ll obtain renown, the prize, and your total bet winnings. To determine your overall profit, subtract your total wagered amount from your winnings. For instance, if you bet a total of 600 gold and won 1,510 gold, your profit would amount to 910 gold (plus the prize).
