NBA 2K23 – How to Activate Team Takeover

Takeovers are special equippable abilities on your MyPlayer. They can be activated once you’ve built up your takeover meters. Primary and Secondary Takeovers haven’t changed in NBA 2K23. However, team takeovers have been completely reworked. Here is everything you need to know about team takeovers.

HOW TO ACTIVATE TEAM TAKEOVER

You don’t have to do anything special to charge up the meter. Simply play the game and the meter will charge automatically.

However, you can charge the Takeover meter a bit faster by playing well. Do proper shots, get assists, up your defensive game, and get as many rebounds as possible. All of these activities feed into the meter, and it will fail if you play poorly.

HOW DOES THE NEW TAKEOVER METER WORK IN 2K23?

Previously in NBA 2K22, players had to fill the primary, secondary, and team takeover meters in consecutive order.

In 2K23, the entire team now shares a single meter. Each player is responsible for filling up a specific portion of the meter by being a good teammate and performing well on the court.

In the last gen, team takeovers had to be manually activated by pressing the Right Stick. However, in NBA 2K23, Team Takeover fires off automatically for the entire team once the team meter is charged up.
