NBA 2K23: How to Join an Affiliation in The City

City Affiliations are a major part of the NBA 2K23 experience. At the beginning, the game randomly puts you into one of the four major affiliations, so joining is not all that difficult. Changing your affiliation, on the other hand, can be a bit difficult. Here is everything you need to know about joining and changing affiliations.

HOW TO JOIN AN AFFILIATION IN THE CITY IN NBA 2K23

There are four affiliations in the game: Beasts of the East, Western Wildcats, North Side Knights, and South City Vipers.

You do not have to do anything in order to join an affiliation. When you start your career, the game will randomly put you into one of the four affiliations mentioned above.

Nothing you do will affect which affiliation you get put into at the beginning of the game.

HOW TO CHANGE AN AFFILIATION IN THE CITY IN NBA 2K23

One day, you might walk through the city and realize that you prefer the Beasts of the East over your South City Vipers. You can easily change your affiliation, and here are the steps to do so:

You can ONLY transfer from one affiliation to another during the first week of each season. Once the first week has ended, you’ll have to wait 6 weeks for the current season to end before you can switch again.

Open the map and hover over the affiliation you want to join. Then press Triangle or Y to set a waypoint to that affiliation’s city hall.

Visit the city hall and head over to the entrance. It will launch a prompt where you can submit a transfer request to change your affiliation.

You’ll be prompted once again. Simply choose Submit Transfer Request if you want to go through with the decision.
