OKAMI HD – Secret Brush Skills
If you’re diving into Okami HD, you most definitely want to snag those awesome secret brush skills. Here’s how you get them!
Fireburst
First off, we have Fireburst! You can learn this flashy skill from Chef Yama, in the restaurant kitchen in Commoner’s Quarter of Sei-An City. But before you can impress Yama, you need to track down the Golden Mushroom. Proceed to Taka Pass and eliminate those pesky moles above the Cutter’s house. Beat them in this teensy-weensy competition; then with the teacup won, go to the shop owner in Taka Pass and trade this for that mushroom. Return this to Yama, and voilà! You can now summon fire whenever you feel like it.
Powerslash 2
Alright, now the Powerslash 2. Get this ability by donating 60,000 Yen into the Divine Spring in the small island north of North Ryoshima Coast. There should be a rock on it; hit it and inside you’ll find a hole. You are now capable of cutting those purple-ish iron obstruction with Powerslash 2!
Powerslash 3
Ready for Powerslash 3? It’s a bit pricier at 360,000 Yen, and you’ll find it at the Divine Spring in Ezofuji. To get there, jump to the cliff from the main left path. A quick map check will help you locate it. Once you’re on the cliff, use Powerslash 2 to cut through the iron rock and find the hole. Powerslash 3 lets you cut through those greenish diamond rocks like a pro!
Cherry Bomb 2
To unlock Cherry Bomb 2, head over to the northern island in North Ryoshima Coast and give the Divine Spring 120,000 Yen, this explosive skill is yours. You really cannot miss this island as it has a natural pier in it. Bomb the cracked ground to show a hole and now you will be able to draw two bombs at once! Just draw one let it appear then quickly draw the second. Boom!
Cherry Bomb 3
Want even more bomb power? Get Cherry Bomb 3 by offering 300,000 Yen at the Divine Spring in Kamui. This spring is just to the left of the Guardian Sapling. Use the Konohana Blossom next to the sapling to get up there, and blast the cracked ground with Cherry Bomb 2 to find your next skill. You will now be able to draw three bombs at once with Cherry Bomb 3. Just draw and watch the fireworks go!
Mist Warp
Next up is Mist Warp, which is so useful. Once you’ve revived the Emperor in Sei-An City and dispersed the mist, give him 80 Demon Fangs. He’ll hook you up with the Fog Pot, which lets you warp between the larger save mirrors marked with an X. Just stand in front of one and draw an X through it to reach some tricky spots!
Whirlwind
Want to conjure a tornado? Learn Whirlwind from Chef Umi in the kitchen at North Ryoshima Coast. First, find yourself a Marlin Rod from a merchant in Sei-An City or North Ryoshima Coast. Next, venture off to one of the west islands and assist a guy on the pier to catch a marlin. When you do so, bring it back, and Umi will teach you how to conjure a powerful tornado!
Fountain (Whirlpool)
The Fountain skill. You’ll receive this upon completion of the dig game with the dancer in the Dragon Palace. Once you complete the dig in reverse, you’ll be able to learn how to warp through the Mermaid Springs without using a Mermaid Coin. Super convenient!
Thunderbolt
When you’re done with Oni Island, you’ll want to get the Thunderbolt from Gen in Sei-An City’s Aristocratic Quarter. First, beat up the mailman, Ida in the Shinshu Field three times. He will present you with the Gimmick Gear after defeat. Take that gear to the tall tower on the northwest side of the Aristocratic Quarter. Using Catwalk, climb the tower and finally give the gear to Gen. Now you’re able summon lightning whenever you want!
Deluge (Rain)
Once Oni Island is complete, head behind the Queen’s palace where there is a small pool of water. Utilize Waterspout to take the water to the four large stones in the background, and you’ll learn Deluge. This allows you to call down a rainstorm at will!
Ice Storm
Finally, there is the Ice Storm. The cool thing about it? You have nothing special to do to have it; just unlock the Blizzard brush skill. Just draw an X with a line through it, and out comes a flurry of ice!
