PC Controls for Metropolis 1998

Here’s a handy guide to the default keyboard controls and hotkeys for Metropolis 1998. It’s great for a quick refresher! And remember, you can always view these controls in-game by pressing the F1 key:

Hotkeys

• F1 | Controls (this window)

• F3 | Debug Info

• F4 | Debug Menu (usage may crash)

• F5 | Quick Save

• F11 | Full Screen

• SPACE | Pause

• ESC | Game Menu/Options

• WASD | Move / Pan

• Scroll Button | Move / Pan

• Scroll | Zoom

• I | Zoom In

• O | Zoom Out

• Click Icon | Open/Close GUI

• Q | Close GUI

• R. Click | Cancel Placement

• F or Scroll + SHIFT | Floor height

• X or Scroll + CTRL | Wall height

• G | Change Camera

• R | Rotate Item/Blueprint

• Z | Show/Hide Zones

• +/- | Change Time (Hour)

Read tooltips for alternative +CTRL and +ALT click options

TIP: Use Scroll+SHIFT to change active floor height when placing rooms! All other object placement works in 3D space.

TIP: The game auto-saves every 10 minutes in the .Data/Saves/Autosaves folder. Copy and rename file to ‘save.db‘ if you want to save current file. Autosaves replace or archive old save file if over-writes save.db file (for now)
