RICK AND MORTY VR GAME: Virtua Rick-Ality Launches
The second game from Job Simulator creator, Owlchemy Labs, is set to arrive next week and it should be a treat for any fans of Rick and Morty who can’t wait for Season 3 to continue later this year. It’s called Virtua Rick-ality and is a virtual reality experience based in the wacky, reality-bending multiverse of Rick and Morty.
Purportedly the game will blend the sort of virtual reality “chaos” that a number of experiences have given us, with the bizarre and “ridiculous, all-out, take no prisoners comedy of Rick and Morty.”
Think the Squanchtendo Accounting experience but with a more practical, Job Simulator feel.
This isn’t being made by Squanchtendo, but has been made with Justin Roiland’s blessing, so will feature the original voices from the show, as well as his own unique creative input in its direction and settings.
The game looks set to take place within Rick’s garage, with all of his various tools, tricks and extras, and then when the portal gun comes into play, the possibilities of where players can go and what they can do could be nearly endless.
“Experience life as a clone of Morty and all the trauma that comes with it,” Owlchemy Labs said (via PCGamer). “Step through portals to strange worlds, help Rick with his bizarre experiments, and use your hands in VR to pick up and play in an interaction-filled 3D Rick-ality. Follow Rick’s directions (or don’t!) to solve puzzles and complete missions in this fully voice acted adventure.”
Both Oculus Rift and HTC Vive headsets are supported and you’ll need at least a GTX 970 or RX 480 to be able to run the game. It’s set for launch on April 20, which does not seem like a coincidence.
